Silly 2/10 of a second kept us from taking the 4:th place at the European Championships in Plovdiv this weekend. In the end Michaela and I were 5:th after GRE, GBR, ITA & RUS.
This feels like a ok ending of this season, rowing in the competitive class of Lightweight Women’s Double Sculls.

A big disappointment!
This World Championship was a big disappointment. The rowing in the double just did not work, meaning it did not matter how hard we were pulling, the boat just did not run well! You can find the results at http://www.rudern.at/index.php?itemid=862.
Thanks to Mamma, Pappa & Ingrid for the support in Bled!

From the bottom…
..to the top of the mountain! This is where we are now.
More precisely we are in Obertraun, where we sleep at 2100m altitude in the little house above. We row at “normal” altitude. This is a very nice place for training! (However, there are no pontoons, so we have a nice cooling down-system after every training, as you can see on the picture below

WC II Hamburg
Hi! This weekend we were in Hamburg for the second stage of the rowing world cup.
The starting field was not as big as in Munich (3 weeks ago), mostly due to the current EHEC plague in Germany. However, we (Michala Taupe-Träer and I) were on the starting line in the 2xLw.
The feeling I have is that we did not completely get our full potential into boat speed, we finished on a 7th place. The picture below (from rudern.de) is taken after the start of the Friday heat.
